Called to order / Quorum Mrs. Gomez called the meeting to order at 1:05p.m. A quorum was present. II. Approval of minutes Minutes are currently being translated will have available at next meeting. III. Additions to agenda There were no additions to the agenda. IV. Old Business There is no old business. V. New Business Budget Transfers No budget transfers to discuss this meeting. VI. Reports / Announcements ELAC Compliance Procedures Mrs. Gomez reviewed PowerPoint from Language Services Yuri Galindo asked what is ELAC role in advising school site council on the school plan. Mrs. Gomez shared that everything goes before ELAC first then is presented to School Site Council. Rosa Vasquez asked how do you know when the student is making progress Belen Rubio from Language Services shared that they looked at reading, grades, DIBELS, CELDT score and the input of teachers. Mrs. Gomez shared that we will bring more information about DIBELS scores for next meeting. LCAP Mrs. Gomez shared how the plan was created and reviewed it. Principal s Report Mrs. Gomez discussed the ESL class. Rosa Vasquez asked how much it costs and Mrs. Gomez informed her that it was free to the school. Mrs. Gomez shared that the kindergarten teachers are asking for help in the classroom. Mrs. Connolly asked if anyone wanted to help with PBIS rewards. Mrs. Rubio shared websites for language learning with the parents and Ms. Connolly shared that duolingo is like Rosetta Stone. Mrs. Rubio shared about the parent engagement program at San Salvador Preschool. She also shared about Valley Star Community Services. Mrs. Rubio shared about DELAC beginning September 25 th. They will be taking a field trip to Valley College. Odette Cueva asked if they could meet at Valley College. Mrs. Rubio will be looking into whether parents can meet at the college instead of Bloomington.

2 Data Data will be shared at the next meeting. Expenditure Report An expenditure report will be shared at the next meeting. DELAC There was no DELAC report yet. VII. For the Good of the Order Rosa Vazquez asked why didn t all grade levels go on a field trip last year. All grade levels were given funds in the past for field trips and it was up to teachers to schedule. This year we did a group trip to L.A county fair so everyone went. Odette Cueva is concerned about whether school lunches are frozen. Mrs. Gomez said we will have to look into it. Odette Cueva asked about PAW Squad and why they don t meet weekly. Mrs. Connolly mentioned that teachers use own prep time to meet with students 1 hour a month. A parent asked if all students get applications for PAW Squad. Mrs. Connolly replied that applications are given to teachers to distribute to any interested students. Mr. Soria reporting that he has a concern about physical contact and if teachers are following up. Mrs. Gomez will follow up. She defined the difference between physical contact and bullying. Bullying is when a student is constantly bothering a student. A good idea would be to do a presentation on bullying. Yuri Galindo asked about what signs they should look for bullying. Estela Arce asked about her child getting enough attention from the teacher. VIII. Adjournment Meeting ended at 1:56 p.m. Next scheduled meeting is October 24th at 1:00 p.m.

4 Comité consultor del aprendiz de inglés 15 de septiembre del :00 p.m. Salón 4 I. Apertura / Quórum La Sra. Gómez abrió la junta a la 1:05 p.m. Un quórum estuvo presente. II. Aprobación de la minuta La minuta está siendo traducida y la tendremos disponible para la próxima junta. III. Adiciones a la agenda No hubo adiciones a la agenda. IV. Asuntos anteriores No hubo asuntos anteriores. V. Asuntos nuevos Transferencias al presupuesto No hubo transferencias al presupuesto para discutir durante esta junta. VI. Informes y avisos Procedimientos de cumplimiento del ELAC La Sra. Gómez repasó la presentación PowerPoint de servicios de lenguaje. Yuri Galindo preguntó que es la función del ELAC para aconsejar al consejo del plantel escolar sobre el plan escolar. La Sra. Gómez informó que todo se le presenta primero al ELAC y después se le presenta al consejo del plantel escolar. Rosa Vásquez preguntó cómo se sabe cuánto un alumno está progresando. Belén Rubio, de servicios de lenguaje, informó que ven la lectura, calificaciones, DIBELS, resultados del CELDT y la aportación de los maestros. La Sra. Gómez informó que se dará más información sobre DIBELS para la próxima junta. LCAP La Sra. Gómez informó cómo se creó el plan y lo repasó. Informe de la directora La Sra. Gómez habló sobre la clase de ESL. Rosa Vásquez preguntó cuánto cuesta y la Sra. Gómez le informó que es gratuito para la escuela. La Sra. Gómez informó que los maestros de kínder están pidiendo ayuda en el salón. La Sra. Connolly preguntó si alguien quería ayudar con las recompensas de PBIS. La Sra. Rubio les informó a los padres sobre sitios web para el aprendizaje del idioma y La Srta. Connolly informó que duolingo es como Rosetta Stone. La Sra. Rubio informó sobre el programa de participación de los padres en la preescolar San Salvador. Habló también sobre servicios comunitarios Valley Star.

5 La Sra. Rubio informó sobre DELAC empezando el 25 de septiembre. Estarán visitando Valley College. Odette Cueva preguntó si se podrían reunir en Valley College. La Sra. Rubio investigará si los padres se pueden reunir en el colegio en vez de Bloomington. Datos Se compartirán datos en la próxima junta. Informe de gastos Se les dará un informe sobre gastos en la próxima junta. DELAC Aun no hay un informe para dar sobre DELAC. VII. Asuntos adicionales Rosa Vázquez preguntó porque el año pasado no todos los grados fueron a una excursión. En el pasado a todos los grados se les daban bastantes fondos para excursiones y dependía de los maestros programarlo. Este año hicimos un viaje en grupo a la feria del condado de LA y todos fueron. Odette Cueva tiene una duda sobre si los almuerzos escolares son congelados. La Sra. Gómez dijo que tendría que investigarlo. Odette Cueva preguntó sobre el escuadrón PAW y porque no se reúnen cada semana. La Sra. Connolly mencionó que los maestros usan su propio periodo de preparación para reunirse con los alumnos una hora al mes. Un padre preguntó si todos los alumnos obtienen una aplicación para el escuadrón PAW. La Sra. Connolly respondió que las aplicaciones se les dan a los maestros para que las repartan a cualquier alumno interesado. El Sr. Soria informó que tiene una inquietud sobre contacto físico y si los maestros estaban dándole seguimiento. La Sra. Gómez le dará seguimiento. Definió la diferencia entre contacto físico y acoso escolar. Acoso escolar es cuando un alumno está constantemente molestando a un alumno. Una buena idea sería dar una presentación sobre acoso escolar. Yuri Galindo preguntó que señales debían observar para acoso escolar. Estela Arce preguntó sobre obtener bastante atención del maestro para su hijo. VIII. Conclusión La junta concluyó a la 1:56 p.m. La próxima junta será el 24 de octubre a la 1:00 p.m.
