Hence, as soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived. (CCC 1514) If a person is in need of Anointing of the Sick, please call the parish office for a priest at If the parish office is closed and there is an immediate danger of death, please call the after-hours emergency number at The after-hours number may only be used for life and death emergencies. 5 A NOTE FROM SISTER DYMPNA Recently a member of our Homebound Apostolate team called me and said: Sister, I think this is the saddest day of my life. For Victor Montoya the reason for the sadness is that after 27 years of service with The Homebound Apostolate the time has come when he feels he must take more rest and let others step in and continue with this beautiful way of serving our sick and ailing brothers and sisters. Victor s service in bringing Holy Communion to our sick and ailing members within our parish boundaries has been mainly given at the Beatitudes Care Center. He has served faithfully, dutifully, kindly and compassionately all these 27 years! Our Homebound Apostolate Group and I m sure, our entire SSJ Parish Family are indebted to you, Victor, and also to your dear wife Dorothy, who has been a staunch support to you through these years of service in Ss. Simon and Jude Parish. THANK YOU, and may God bless you abundantly! Our hearts, minds and prayers are also especially aware of the Holy Land. Our parishes, once a year on Good Friday, are called to support Christians in the Holy Land. Many Christians in the Holy Land depend on the collection for their lives. As a pontifical collection requested by our Pope, the annual Good Friday collection offers a direct line for parishioners to be witnesses of peace and to help protect the Holy Places. Una vez al año, en Viernes Santo, se les invita a las parroquias a que apoyen a la Cristiandad en la Tierra Santa. Las vidas de muchos Cristianos en la Tierra Santa dependen de nuestras donaciones. Como una recaudación pontifical pedida por El Papa, la recaudación anual de Viernes Santo ofrece un oportunidad a los parroquianos a presenciar paz y de ayudar a proteger los lugares santos. Cuando usted haga su donación en Viernes Santo, usted estará apoyando a la Cristiandad en la Tierra Santa. UNA NOTA DE LA HERMANA DYMPNA Recientemente, un miembro de nuestro Apostolado de Confinados al Hogar me llamó y me dijo: "Hermana, creo que este es el día más triste de mi vida". Para Victor Montoya la razón de la tristeza es que después de 27 años de servicio en este Apostolado, llegó el momento que él siente que debe descansar más y permitir que otros continúen con este hermoso servicio a nuestros hermanos y hermanas enfermos. El servicio de Víctor de llevar la Sagrada Comunión a los feligreses enfermos dentro de nuestra área parroquial ha sido principalmente en Beatitudes Care Center. Él ha servido con fidelidad, obediencia, amabilidad y compasión todos estos 27 años! Nuestro Apostolado de Confinados al Hogar, junto con toda nuestra Familia Parroquial de SSJ están en deuda con usted Víctor y también con su querida esposa Dorothy, quien ha sido un gran apoyo para usted a través de estos años de servicio en la Parroquia de San Simón y Judas.
