5 CATHEDRAL GIFT SHOP GOOD FRIDAY ROSARY FOR LIFE with Bishop Olmsted Friday, March 30th 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM Glendale Planned Parenthood 5771 W Eugie Ave. Join us Good Friday for our Rosary for Life with Bishop Olmsted! We pray on this holy day that the love and mercy of Christ will pour out on those women and men considering abortion and encourage them to choose life for their pre-born children. Please remember to bring water and an umbrella for shade; parking is suggested on neighborhood streets to the east of the site. HEALING PRAYER The Healing Prayer Group is meeting on the following upcoming Mondays: March 19 and 26. If you are in need of healing in body, mind or spirit, please feel welcome to come and let us pray with and for you. The group meets on the above dates at 11:00a.m. We meet in St. Bridget s Room just across from the parish office. A courtesy call to Sr. D. at Ext. 121 is requested if you intend to be present. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT The Bereavement Support group will meet on January 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Office Conference Room. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, please feel welcome to come. You need not grieve alone. We will listen and we will pray with you. 6 ST. VINCENT DE PAUL In the Gospel today Jesus says, Whoever serves me must follow me and where I am there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me. When we help the poor we are truly followers of Jesus, servant of the poor. As you support the Society of St Vincent de Paul with your financial gifts, food items or prayers, know that you are a sign of God s love to those who receive your kindness and you give them the Easter hope and joy. SVDP pantry is in need of mac & cheese and peanut butter. These items may be left in the Parish Office or gift shop. Plan to attend Soup Supper on Tuesday, March 20 th. It will be the last one this Lenten Season. Thanks to all those in the Mother s Guild that brought soup and bread last Tuesday. This year 10 different ministries have furnished soup and bread for our Soup Suppers. What a great community effort! Soup Supper Tuesday 5-6:30pm in Smith Hall. VENERABLE MARY WARD The Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (The Loreto Sisters) were given great cause to celebrate when Pope Benedict declared their foundress, Mary Ward, Venerable. This is the first step toward sainthood. Her cause will now go forward to the next stage in the process which is Beatification and eventual Canonization. We must now help complete that journey to make Mary Ward a Saint with prayer and wide spread devotion. In that spirit, there will be a Mass Intention: For the success of the cause for the Beatification of Mary Ward on the 23 rd of every month starting Jan. 23rd (her birthday) at S.S. Simon and Jude Cathedral. Please attend these Masses, if you are able, or pray special intention prayers on the 23 rd of each month. We will watch for extraordinary graces received through the intercession of Mary Ward. Please spread the word! WANTED: JANITOR/CUSTODIAN Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral is seeking a selfmotivated individual for the part-time position of hours per week. Duties include but are not limited to: Assisting with custodial duties and maintenance throughout the Church, offices, grounds, and school; Assists with parish ministry and event setups; performs other position related tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Janitorial experience required. Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance desired. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Este es el primer paso hacia la santidad. Su causa ahora avanzará a la siguiente etapa en el proceso que es la Beatificación y la Canonización final.
