Hence, as soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived. From February 20, 2017 Yesterday, just minutes before yesterday's TV Mass, the Evil One started tempting me to become discouraged. So, I went directly to the Adoration Chapel to ask Jesus to be with me in the battle. As I prayed silently, one phrase of Blessed Charles de Foucauld's "Prayer of Abandonment" surfaced with crystal clarity: "...let only Your will be done in me..." As I savored those words, I asked Jesus: "What is your will for me right now?" His answer was clear: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul SOUP SUPPER Wednesday during Lent March 8th April 5th 4:30p.m. 6:00 p.m. All donations will benefit the society of St. Vincent de Paul "To celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the good of the souls in attendance and those tuning in through the media. Nothing more. Nothing less." There was NOTHING else I needed to concern myself with besides THIS Mass...in THIS moment...for THESE souls. I returned to that prayer throughout the rest of the day yesterday and even into today to keep me in the present moment. When we let go of OUR silly preoccupations and concern ourselves only with God's will for us in THIS moment--carrying out whatever duty he has given us for his glory and our sanctification--we will receive a great gift...instant peace! VINCENT DE PAUL Lent is a call to give alms for the poor. Wherever you live in the parish, there are poor families within walking distance of your home. When in need, they ring the rectory bell. St. Vincent de Paul is always in need of food and alms dropped into the Poor Box. Please continue to bring bags of food with you to Mass and place them in the SVDP Boxes in the rear of the Church. The St. Vincent de Paul Lenten Soup Suppers, which will be held on each Wednesday during Lent, will begin on Wed. March 8, 2017 in the School Cafeteria. These Soup Suppers will begin serving at 4:30 p.m. and continue until 6:00 p.m. Soup will be contributed by the various ministries in our parish and is truly a wonderful Lenten family fellowship. También puedes encontrar estas historias en la página de Facebook del padre Lankeit. Ayer, unos minutos antes de la misa televisiva de ayer, el Maligno comenzó a tentarme a desanimarme. Así que fui directamente a la Capilla de la Adoración para pedirle a Jesús que estuviera conmigo en la batalla. Mientras rezaba en silencio, una frase de la "Oración de Abandono" del Beato Charles de Foucauld apareció con claridad cristalina: "... que solo se haga Tu voluntad en mí..." Mientras saboreaba esas palabras, le pregunté a Jesús: " Cuál es tu voluntad para mí en este momento?" Su respuesta fue clara: La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl CENA DE SOPA Miércoles durante Cuaresma Del 8 de marzo al 5 de abril 4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Todas las donaciones beneficiarán a la sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl "Para celebrar el Santo Sacrificio de la Misa por el bien de las almas presentes y de los que se sintonizan a través de los medios de comunicación, nada más, nada menos". No había NADA más de lo que necesitaba preocuparme aparte de ESTA Misa... en ESTE momento... para ESTAS almas. Volví a esa oración durante el resto del día de ayer e incluso hasta hoy para mantenerme en el momento presente. Cuando dejamos ir nuestras preocupaciones estúpidas y nos preocupamos solamente por la voluntad de Dios para nosotros en este momento - cumpliendo cualquier deber que nos ha dado para su gloria y nuestra santificación - recibiremos un gran regalo... paz instantánea! 10 Campana de Caridad y Desarrollo A partir de martes 21 de febrero 2017 SAN VICENTE DE PAUL La Cuaresma es un llamado a "dar limosna para los pobres". Donde quiera o en cualquier parte de nuestra parroquia, hay familias pobres a poca distancia de su hogar. Cuando están en necesidad, tocan el timbre de la rectoría. San Vicente de Paúl siempre necesita comida y limosna en la Caja de los Pobres. Por favor, continúen trayendo bolsas de comida y dejarlas en las cajas de los pobres,(svdp) cuando usted venga a Misa en la parte posterior de la Iglesia. Gracias por su apoyo y generosidad! Si aún no ha contribuido al CDA por favor considere con oración cómo usted puede apoyar las obras de misericordia. ATENCIÓN! La Sopa Cuaresmales de San Vicente de Paúl, que se celebrarán cada miércoles durante la Cuaresma, comenzarán el miércoles. 8 de marzo de 2017 en la Cafetería Escolar. Estas Sopa comenzarán a servir a las 4:30 p.m. y continuarán hasta las 6:00 p.m. La deliciosa sopa será aportada por los diversos ministerios en nuestra Parroquia.
