4 UNIDAD 4 ETAPAS 2 WS#4 INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS: LE, LES Indirect object pronouns replace or accompany indirect objects. In order to have an indirect object, there is also a direct object. Sometimes the direct object is implied, such as with the verbs hablar and escribir. The indirect object is usually a person, and it always needs an a in front of it. The indirect object receives the direct object in a sentence. Indirect object pronouns are placed before the conjugated verb. The indirect object pronouns le and les are used even when the indirect object is still stated in the sentence. le = to/for him, her, you formal les = to/for them, you all EX: Yo le doy dinero a Pedro. I give money to Pedro. IOP DO IO DO IO Juan les trae a Uds. los refrescos. Juan brings you all the sodas. IOP IO DO IO DO Underline the indirect object in each sentence then add the indirect object pronoun (le, les) by using a carrot mark (^). le EX: Juan ^ da a su madre un regalo. 1. Marcos dice la verdad a sus padres. 2. A veces yo doy una manzana a mi maestro. 3. Qué traes tú a Moisés? 4. Los maestros enseñan las lecciones a sus estudiantes. 5. Carmen dice su teléfono al chico guapo. 6. Por qué no dan Uds. los papeles a Julieta? 7. Yo hablo a mis abuelos por teléfono todos los días. 8. Sara escribe una carta a su prima Inés. 9. Traigo flores a mi madre rara vez. 10. Digo a Juan la respuesta correcta.
5 UNIDAD 4 ETAPAS 2 WS#5 INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS: LE, LES le = to/for him, her, you formal les = to/for them, you all Translate the sentences to Spanish. I teach the students Spanish. 6. I talk to Miguel. 7. I return (give back) the compact disks to Rosario. 8. I buy my cousins bicycles.
6 UNIDAD 4 ETAPAS 2 WS#6 INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS: ME, TE, NOS, OS The indirect object pronouns me, te, nos, and os are used just like le, les, except there is not usually an indirect object (in the form of a prepositional phrase) included in the sentence, except when adding emphasis. me (a mí) = to/for me te (a ti) = to/for you (familiar) nos (a nosotros) = to/for us os (a vosotros) = to/for you all (familiar) EX: El dependiente me dice el precio.
