ICT- Students will regularly use the Moodle courses created by teachers and available via de website to supplement their studies in the classroom and to expand their horizons in terms of independent learning and research. One of the courses is linked to the textbook and the topics studied (Sigue A2- WJEC) and the other relevant course is dedicated to the Guided Studies Option. In the Spring term the students will chose a topic to prepare independently, but under supervision, for the Oral Exposé part of the Oral examination (SN3). This could either be a book, a film or a region. The Spanish assistant will see each student individually 25 mins per week. They will develop the topics studied in class, will expand the student s cultural knowledge of Spain and will help them prepare and practise for their oral exam preparation. Although it is not compulsory, the students will be encouraged to attend the Spanish Film Club. There is also available for the Sixth Form a study trip to Salamanca during February half term, which always proves very popular. SUPPLEMENTARY RESOURCES - SIXTH FORM All pupils are supplied with monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, and copies of Acción Gramática, Practice in Spanish Grammar and The Big Red Book of Spanish Vocabulary. Supplementary resources used in both the Lower and Upper Sixth include a series of cultural and topic based books, all of which are kept in L9. SUBSCRIPTIONS:- Annual subscriptions to Authentik Interactive. In addition to these published resources, topic-relevant resources are available in Moodle and via all School networked computer workstations. These are continually added to and updated by staff. The School Learning and Resource Centre (LRC) also has a wide collection of titles covering Spanish and South-American history, civilisation and literature. The Department also has a large collection of literary texts covering all periods from the medieval to the contemporary. THE INTERNET is used extensively to provide topical source materials.
