Información del recurso My High School Área curricular: Lengua extranjera: Inglés Educación Secundaria Obligatoria Primer curso Illustration. Classroom. Source: Intef. Durante este recurso se trabajará sobre el vocabulario del colegio y el material escolar, y se conocerá como utilizar las preposiciones "in" y "at", así como el uso del verbo "there is/are". Students To start off This educational resource contains four activities: Activity 1: first, you will write a description about a friend. Then, you will work in pairs. Activity 2: in this activity, working in pairs again, you will practise the use of the expressions there is and there are. You will use them to orally describe the objects in your classroom. Then, in groups, you will create a poster to revise the vocabulary about school materials. Activity 3: the whole group will solve an enigma posted in the classroom blog. You will also learn how to create a timetable. Final activity: finally, working in groups, you will describe a friend, your classroom and your timetable. In this educational resource, you will carry out different types of activities: you will work independently and also with classmates, think for yourself, go one step further when to get more information on the topic studied, and finally, assess yourself. Take screenshots of each activity that you do (you may use GIMP), paste them into an Impress presentation. Upload the presentation to AuthorStream. and share it with your teacher. Now, working in pairs, you will practise with the expressions there is and there are and the vocabulary about school materials that you studied in the resource above. Make up either a true or a false sentence about the school materials that you can find in your classroom, using there is or there are. Your classmate must say if it is true or false. If it is false, your classmate must create a correct sentence. For example: A: There are two pencils in the class.

B: False. There are twenty pencils in the class Once you have finished, you both must write, at least, 5 sentences and their correct responses. Use Google Docs to create the text document and share it with your teacher. Let's practise together Is it true or false? In groups of three, you will create a glog (poster) using Glogster EDU. The glog must include a picture about a classroom (a laboratory, a gym ) where you can find some school materials that you studied in the resource "My New School": My New School. Once you have finished the glog (poster), post it in the classroom Blog. Your teacher will show all the posters on the interactive whiteboard. Only one of the statements must be true; the others must be false. For example: There are two tables in the laboratory. (False) There are two blackboards in the gym. (True) There are two chairs in the classroom. (False) The other groups must guess the correct statement. Pay attention to the information because you will only hear it once.

This entry contains an enigma that the whole class must solve. Discuss the solution with your classmates by posting comments in the Blog entry. At the end of the day, you should have come up with a solution. The enigma is related to the vocabulary that you studied when you visited the link It s a sign! : subjects and timetables. Remember that you must use the English language in your comments and that you only have 24 hours to solve the enigma! Once your time is up, your teacher will post the correct answer in the classroom Blog. Let's practise together My timetable In this activity you will work in pairs. First, you will create a timetable in a text document using Google Docs. The timetable must contain the subjects that you study at high school and also several activities that you can practise in the afternoon. It may be fictitious! Then, you must write, at least, 6 sentences using the information provided in the timetable. Do not forget to use time expressions containing the prepositions in and at. Once you have finished your work, share your text document with your teacher using Google Docs.
