The students will embark on a 1- mile tour including antebellum homes, a historic chapel, the town square, and multiple come-tolife historical figures based on primary source documents. The tour covers Georgia before, during and after the Civil War and is focused on Roswell as it was occupied by Union troops on their way to Atlanta. It is aligned with the 8 th grade Georgia Social Studies curriculum. On October 6 th, the 8 th grade students are invited to participate in this beautiful scenic tour of downtown historic Roswell. The students are scheduled to arrive at The Teaching Museum at 9:30am and the tour will conclude at 12:45pm. The cost of the trip is $4.00. Payment due by September 24 th.
Student ipad Rollout Event & Parent Info. Sessions This school year, Holcomb Bridge is transitioning to 21st century, personalized learning thanks to a partnership with the nonprofit organization Digital Promise and Verizon Wireless. Digital Promise and Verizon have selected Holcomb Bridge as one of 21 U.S. middle schools to receive a grant that will allow all teachers and students to receive school-issued ipads for the 2015-2016 school year. Thanks to a 5 gigabyte data plan on each ipad, students will be able to use their ipad both at school and at home seamlessly. HBMS is extremely excited for this opportunity to expand student learning! Students will receive their ipads at a community-wide celebratory event at the school on Saturday, October 3rd. More information regarding this event is coming soon. HBMS will host parent information sessions regarding this transition process on the dates listed below. All your questions will be addressed at these sessions. We look forward to seeing to there! O n behalf of Jr. Beta and Superheroes everywhere, we would like to say, THANK YOU! for your support of CAPE DAY!!!! Many of you donated more than the requested pledge of $5 and we are so grateful. Together we raised $314 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the patients who are so deserving of our support. Thanks 8th Grade Knight with CHS Marching Band!! Friday, September 25th, the Holcomb Bridge 8th grade Band will combine with 8th graders from Haynes Bridge MS Band and all of the Centennial HS Marching Band for 8th Grade "Knight!" The 8th graders will perform Pre- Game and in the stands throughout the football game as part of the HS Marching Band!! Students performing need to arrive with instrument, music, and a sweatshirt or light jacket at 5pm to the CHS Band Room. Students should be picked up at 10:30pm at the CHS Band Room. See you there!!!
