5 In this lesson there are four expressions that use with the verb. In English the verb to be would be used in these expressions. Use those expressions in the following sentences 1. They are cold in Spanish class. 2. We are hot in the summer. 3. She is lucky because she buys new clothing often. 4. You (formal) are right. The blouse is ugly. Direct object pronouns or DOP s Ejemplo: I wear the brown shirt. I wear it. ( is the DOP) *The direct object receives the of the verb. Ejemplo: Luisa is buying the blouse. Buying what? Singular Plural me = nos = te = os = lo / la = los / las = In a sentence the DOP is placed either the conjugated verb, or it can be to the infinitive if there is one. The irregular affirmative tú commands are: decir hacer ir poner Salir tener venir If you use an affirmative command with a DOP, attach the pronoun to the end of the command. Ejemplo: Cierra la puerta! Ciérrala! 1) The dishes are dirty. Wash them! 2) Set the table! Set it now! 3) Clean the kitchen! 4) Vacuum! 5) Make the bed! 6) Be nice! 11
