4 Los Complementos Directos = Direct Objects In Spanish, as in English, we can shorten sentences by replacing names and nouns with pronouns. Direct objects answer the question who? or what? after a verb. The direct object can be a noun (person or thing) or a pronoun. Are you going to see the movie? Yes, we're going to see it. Have you met my cousins? No, I haven't met them. One example is the direct object pronoun. Un complemento directo is what we call it in Spanish and it refers to a person or a thing. 1. Find the complemento directo in the sentence. 2. Replace it with a pronoun from your chart. 3. Add the pronoun before the conjugated verb (You will learn later in AVHS you can also attach it to the end of an infinitive.)
