Trdicionlmente, los centros eductivos de FERE- CECA se hn esmerdo por ofrecer l mejor clidd en l docenci de los idioms. Hbitulmente, ls escuels hn incrementdo el horrio dedicdo l mteri; hn ofrecido ctividdes complementris que permiten profundizr y mplir l mteri; hn sido pioneros en el desrrollo de intercmbios escolres con lumnos de otros píses; hn formdo los profesores en idioms, en metodologís;... Pero los nuevos tiempos y retos, y con ello l necesidd de implementr y optimizr l eficci de l enseñnz de idioms en l escuel, exigen un esfuerzo ñdido de imginción y orgnizción. Con este Progrm, ls ESCUELAS CATÓLICAS pretenden dr un nuevo slto hci l excelenci en l enseñnz de los idioms. Pero lo que todví es más importnte: pretenden hcerlo sin que se resient l clidd del resto de ls enseñnzs y del proyecto eductivo y vlores del Centro. We re plesed to inform you tht ESCUELAS CATÓLICAS re lunching the BEDA Progrmme for the promotion nd improvement of English lnguge eduction. Trditionlly, FERE-CECA schools hve worked hrd to offer the best qulity in lnguge teching. Schools hve regulrly dedicted extr hours to this subject; they hve offered complementry ctivities in order to lern more nd extend the subject nd they hve been pioneers in developing school exchnges with students from other countries. They hve lso trined lnguge techers in different methodologies. Now, new times nd chllenges, nd the need to implement nd improve the level of efficiency in lnguge eduction within schools, demnd n dded effort of imgintion nd orgnistion. With this Progrmme, ESCUELAS CATÓLICAS re setting further gol to chieve excellence in lnguge eduction. More importntly, ESCUELAS CATÓLICAS re lunching this new venture without detriment to the qulity of teching of other subjects or to eductionl projects nd vlues. 3 Qué es el Progrm bed Bilingul English Development & Assessment? El Progrm BEDA persigue implementr y optimizr l eficci de l enseñnz de idioms en l escuel. Y lo intent, fundmentlmente, trvés de tres ejes: incremento culittivo y cuntittivo de l enseñnz del inglés; progrmción de un formción específic del profesordo; y relizción de evlución extern del lumndo y de los miembros de l comunidd eductiv del centro con un gente evludor de indudble prestigio como es CAMBRIDGE ESOL. Consiste en un implntción grdul de l enseñnz bilingüe Espñol-Inglés en los Colegios Concertdos de FERE-CECA y tiene el crácter de Proyecto Eductivo que refuerz y mplí determindos spectos de l vid eductiv lingüístic del Centro, del currículo y del entorno escolr. Wht is the bed Progrmme Bilingul English Development & Assessment? The BEDA Progrmme ims to implement nd improve efficiency in lnguge eduction within the school. Essentilly, the Progrmme covers three res: developing qulity nd quntity in English eduction; progrmming specific techer trining; nd student externl evlution s well s school techer nd stff ssessment. The evlution body is the widely-known prestigious interntionl orgnistion CAMBRIDGE ESOL. The Progrmme consists of grdul introduction of Spnish-English bilingul eduction in the FERE-CECA schools. As n Eductionl Project, it strengthens nd extends spects of lnguge eductionl life in the school, the curriculum nd the school environment.

Modelo de Potencición del Inglés Este modelo pone en mrch diferentes estrtegis pr generr un mbiente que potenci el inglés en el Centro crendo un nuevo modelo orgniztivo que propici modificciones en su orgnigrm e incorpor en el mrco de su proyecto eductivo el idiom extrnjero. Hce cmbios sustnciles en el prendizje de ls lengus extrnjers, tnto curriculres como metodológicos, y d prioridd ls ctividdes complementris y extrescolres que fomenten el inglés. El profesordo implicdo en el progrm se incorpor un proceso de formción y el lumndo un proceso de evlución motivdor que le permit l utilizción de distintos idioms pr comunicrse. Modelo Bilingüe Cundo un Centro se incorpor l modelo bilingüe del Progrm BEDA es porque y tiene un tryectori de Centro en l potencición del idiom inglés. Increment l enseñnz de l lengu extrnjer en su currículo y un número significtivo de miembros del clustro está implicdo en su formción en inglés. Así mismo, los uxilires de conversción se incorporn en ls uls y se potenci l evlución tnto del profesordo como del lumndo. El Centro cuent con un pln de cciones prevists que definen muy bien su visión del proyecto bilingüe, incorporándose inicitivs como l Célul Europ. Modelo de Excelenci Bilingüe Este modelo del Progrm BEDA se crcteriz porque el centro tiene un experienci eductiv muy mpli en educción bilingüe y un dinámic que integr y desrroll spectos que fvorecen el bilingüismo. Prticip en diferentes Proyectos Europeos, proyectos de elborción de mteriles didácticos e intercmbios con otros centros. El modelo de Excelenci port crcterístics propis de un Centro con enseñnz bilingüe y un modelo de orgnizción propio que fect los diferentes Deprtmentos y l ppel del profesordo. El mbiente bilingüe reinnte en el centro yud poder relizrse l implntción de otrs lengus con más fcilidd que l desrrolld con el inglés, consiguiendo el clifictivo de centro plurilingüe en poco espcio de tiempo.

Model for Reinforcement of English This model promotes different strtegies to generte suitble tmosphere for the use of English within the school, creting new orgnistionl model which fvours chrt chnges nd incorportes foreign lnguge in its eductionl project frmework. Fund mentl chnges in foreign lnguge lerning re included, both in the curriculum nd in methodology. Complementry nd extr ctivities to encourge English become priority. Techers involved in the Progrmme re trined nd students undertke motivting evlution process which leds them to use different lnguges to communicte. Bilingul Model A school which hs been incorported into the BEDA Progrmme bilingul model hs n outstnding record of chievement in lerning English. It increses foreign lnguge teching in the curriculum nd significnt number of teching stff re involved in English trining. Furthermore, lnguge ssistnts for converstion re incorported into the clssroom nd evlution both for techers nd students is encourged. The school hs n ction pln to clerly define its vision of the bilingul project, prticipting in inititives such s Europe Cell. Bilingul Excellence Model This model of the BEDA Progrmme is for schools with wide rnge of experience in bilingul eduction together with strtegies which integrte nd develop spects which fvour bilingul eduction. The school prticiptes in different Europen Projects, projects for developing teching mterils nd exchnges with other schools. The Excellence Model tkes on the specific chrcteristics of bilingul eductionl centre, its own orgnistionl model involving ll deprtments s well s the role of t e c h e r s. The b i l i n g u l tmosphere of the school helps to implement lerning of other lnguges esier thn tht with English lone, reching multilingul level within short period of time.

6 Quiénes y cómo se ccede l Progrm bed? L incorporción l Progrm BEDA exigirá l presentción, por prte del centro interesdo, de un proyecto que cumpl los requisitos especificdos en l correspondiente convoctori. Dichos requisitos se centrrán, fundmentlmente, en un pln de implementción de l docenci del idiom inglés; en un propuest de formción del profesordo; y en un proyecto de evlución extern, tnto del lumndo como del propio proyecto. Un Comisión de Evlución constituid l efecto, integrd por responsbles del secretrido de Escuels Ctólics, y por profesionles del Progrm BEDA, se encrgrá de l selección de los centros, sí como de su revisión nul. L incorporción l Progrm BEDA supone, pr los centros dmitidos, el derecho un sesormiento continuo del equipo directivo y de los responsbles del progrm; derecho un formción permnente, ofrecid por el Deprtmento Pedgógico de FERE-CECA con l colborción de l editoril Mcmilln; y l plicción de un evlución extern del lumndo y del propio proyecto de Centro trvés de Cmbridge ESOL. Así mismo, l incorporción l Progrm BEDA permitirá que el centro exhib, en el lugr público que considere oportuno, un plc credittiv en l que se reconozc dich prticipción. L presentción del proyecto y l dmisión de éste, con l consiguiente inclusión en el Progrm BEDA, no supondrá coste económico lguno pr los Centros.

7 Who cn ccess the bed Progrmme nd how? In order to prticipte in the BEDA Progrmme, the interested school will present complete Project subject to fulfilling ll the requirements stted in the corresponding nnouncement. Essentilly, these requirements include n implementtion pln for English lnguge teching; techer trining proposl; nd n externl evlution project, both for students nd for the Project itself. An Evlution Committee integrting members of the Ctholic Schools Secretrit, Cmbridge ESOL nd professionl representtives of the collborting entities of the BEDA Progrmme, will select the schools nd will lso be responsible for the nnul revision, nd implement of the projects tht hve been pproved. As members of the BEDA Progrmme, the schools will hve ccess to on-going ssessment of their executive bord nd those responsible for the Progrmme; permnent trining offered by the Pedgogicl Deprtment of FERE-CECA in collbortion with Mcmilln Publishers; nd externl evlution through Cmbridge ESOL for students nd the school project itself. Furthermore, s BEDA Progrmme member, the school will hve the right to locte sign cknowledging ccredittion in plce of their choice. No cost is involved for the school in the presenttion nd dmission of the school Project for its inclusion in the BEDA Progrmme.
