1 Español para Conversacion Diaria > Nivel Blanco Capítulo 14: Speaking about Your Hobbies, Likes and Dislikes. I like... me gusta... Special verb to like. i.e. Me gusta pasear en la playa. Explicación - Tarea - Actividades Explicación: (leer en casa, antes de la clase) Like and dislike are action words that are not conjugated like ordinary action words. They cannot be preceded by words such as Yo, Tú, El, Ella, Nosotros/as, Ustedes, Ellos/as. Instead you use alternative words such as Me, Te, Le, Nos and Les. I Me you Te she/he/it we like Le Nos gusta you (all) Les they Les I don't me you don't te she/he/it we doesn't don't like No le nos gusta you (all) don't les they don't les Examples: I like the cake. Me gusta la torta. You don't like the cookies.
2 No te gustan las galletas. Special usage: To emphasize who likes/dislikes something, people sometimes use the expression "a + name of the person who likes/dislikes" or words such as Mí, Ti, El, Ella, Nosotros, Ustedes, Ellos, Ellas. It is also used for short answers/questions. Pedro likes my house. A Pedro le gusta mi casa. He doesn't like to run. A él no le gusta correr. You (formal) like my house. A usted le gusta mi casa. I have ten pesos left. A mí me quedan diez pesos. Tarea: (hacer en casa, antes de clase 1. Watch the slideshow Te gusta el vino? A ellos les gusta pasar mucho tiempo juntos y estudiar juntos. Sus fechas de nacimiento son casi iguales: Paulina nació (was born) el diez de octubre y José nació el 12 de octubre del mismo año. Viven muy cerca del colegio: Paulina vive en el número 486 de la calle 10 de agosto y José vive en el número 29 de la calle La Razón. Paulina es muy baja, mide sólo 1.48 metros, pesa 56 kilos y tiene pelo rubio y ojos azules. José es altísimo, mide 2.1 metros, pesa 82 kilos y tiene ojos cafés y cabello negro. A Paulina le gusta hacer cosas tranquilas, como leer, ir al cine y escribir cartas, pero a José le gusta hacer cosas activas, como jugar al fútbol, nadar y hacer ejercicios. Sus nacionalidades son diferentes también: Paulina es una ecuatoriana y José es un argentino. Aunque son muy diferentes, a Paulina y José les gusta su amistad y quieren ser amigos para siempre. B.
