2 Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time July 12, 2015 Message from our Pastor My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes, Have you seen our renovated sign at the corner of 112 th and 142 nd? Our new coat-of-arms was painted for us by Eddy Lopez, the same artist who painted the beautiful impressionist Basilica and Grotto for our mantel at the rectory. He is so talented! The central image on the coat-of-arms has the L for Lourdes in the center. This is enclosed within the N and D representing Notre Dame de Lourdes (Our Lady of Lourdes in French). The crown is the same that crowns the statue of Our Lady at Lourdes (I hope you notice that it is also the same that crowns our statue of Our Lady of Lourdes.) This central image is the same contained in the stained glass windows of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at Lourdes which date from It is the same image adopted by l Hospitalité Notre-Dame de Lourdes the organization that trains all the volunteers who serve at Lourdes and organizes their service. Lourdes, Miami is more than just our geographical location. It, together with the central symbol, reflects the connection between Our Lady of Lourdes, Miami and the Sanctuaries of Lourdes, France. It is an echo of Lourdes to Lourdes. Our Lady of Lourdes and our consecration to Jesus through Mary has been a tremendous blessing for us that we see and experience every day in the spirit and activity of our parish family. We seek to be a blessing as well to the sick and suffering of both Miami and the world as we offer ourselves in service at the Sanctuaries of Lourdes, France each year.
