SPAN 1312: Beginning Spanish II (Native Speakers) The second course in the bilingual sequence for heritage speakers of Spanish. SPAN 1411: Beginning Spanish I (Non-Native Speakers) A course designed for non-native speakers of the Spanish language. It covers the fundamental skills in listening, comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing, including basic vocabulary, grammatical structures and culture. SPAN 1412: Beginning Spanish II (Non-Native Speakers) This course is a continuation of SPAN 1411 and it is designed for nonnative speakers of the Spanish language. SPAN 2311: Intermediate Spanish I This course provides the students with ample opportunity for developing reading, writing, speaking and listening through the application of these concepts to real life situations. They will have the opportunity to ensure an understanding and appreciation of the Latin American culture. SPAN 2323: Introduction to Latin American Literature A course that helps the students to develop the ability to write paragraphs and give oral presentations in Spanish, participate in group situations and 4

5 accommodate cultural diversities in oral and written communication, as well as analyze and critique Latin American Literature. 5
