The Lord is coming to offer willingly his life for us, so that we may have eternal life. The only way to receive eternal life is to accept that life itself comes neither from us nor from our will. Those who reject eternal life want to be totally independent from the source of life, who is God. Adam and Eve disobeyed God because they did not trust in his love, thinking that He was an obstacle for their happiness. On the contrary, to accept both God s Word as guidance in one s life and his will is to accept that we have been created to live forever: mortal creatures destined to live forever! This is the Passover! Through sin the gates of Heaven were shut, but through Christ who is the Great I AM, the One without beginning or end, we again have access to the Father. With his Incarnation he took the frailty of our humanity, loaded with sins, in order to destroy sin in his own body. Being then united with Him through the Sacraments and the Word of God, we have are going to be carried by Christ from death to life - from sin to love of our neighbor: this is the gift that our King is bringing today! Let us then acclaim our Liberator, the One who brings us peace, which is the forgiveness of our sin. Palm Sunday starts off the Holy week, in which the Great Mysteries of our Salvation are accomplished. On Holy Thursday we experience Jesus giving us communion and showing us the way to the Father with the Last Supper. On Good Friday we actually see the Lord expressing his love scarifying himself on the Cross. On the Easter Vigil, then, the Resurrection is accomplished so that we may have Eternal Life. Let us then welcome our King!

Through the teaching of the Word of God in our Religious Formation Program, the children will learn about the presence of God in their lives. Currently the program serves over 1,000 children. We need adults, young and old, to join us in this mission. We provide training for all our catechists. At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the only Son from the Father...who suffered and died for us and who now, after rising, is living with us forever. To catechize is to reveal the person of Christ If you are interested in being a catechist, please contact Mrs. Jacqueline Perez, Religious Education Coordinator at The tree of life is located in the back of the Church. 4 Page 4 Fifth Sunday of Lent March 20, 2016 DOMINGO DE RAMOS Y SEMANA SANTA En este día, el Domingo de Ramos, la Iglesia recuerda la entrada de Cristo en Jerusalén. Así Él, que es inmortal, entra en nuestra fragilidad humanidad, para hacer de manera que nuestros cuerpos mortales puedan vivir para siempre. Entonces, para poder aceptar este Creador, y para poder aceptar esta vida eterna que llega hacia nosotros, es indispensable no hacer el error de Adán y Eva. Ellos no tuvieron confianza en el amor de Dios: quisieron ser independientes. Pensar que la vida en general y la vida diaria proceden de nosotros mismos es pensar de ser como Dios. Cuando hacemos nuestra voluntad eliminamos a Dios de nuestras vidas, morimos espiritualmente. Él es que nos da` esta vida y la vida eterna también. Esta es la Pascua! Pasar de la muerte a la vida! De la esclavitud del egoísmo a hacer la voluntad de Dios! Después del pecado de Adán y Eva, Cristo ha abierto las puertas del Cielo otra vez. El pecado que tenemos en nosotros ha sido destruido por el Sacrificio de Cristo. Celebramos entonces, en este día del Domingo de Ramos, la entrada de Jesús en nuestra vida como Salvador y Redentor. Después, la Semana Santa empieza. Con el Jueves Santo, Cristo nos muestra su amor hacia nosotros, en el cual nos enseña ad amarnos como hermanos en la dimensión de la Cruz. Nos dará después a Pentecostés su Espíritu, para habilitarnos de verdad ad un amor incondicionado. Después, en el Viernes Santo, Cristo ofrece sí mismo como sacrificio de reconciliación, cargando con los pecados de todos nosotros: pecados pasados, presentes y futuros. Después, una vez que Cristo destruye el pecado en su cuerpo, el Señor nos regala una vida nueva: la Resurrección. No necesitas esperar que te mueras para experimentar la Resurrección. Simplemente cree que en Cristo se puede ser más fuerte que tus pecados! Él te dará su Espíritu, el Espíritu del Resucitado, para ser libre de amar sin temor tu prójimo en la Vigilia Pascual.
