Why does the Church insist so much on repentance during the Lenten Season? This is a precious time in which we may enter into salvation or not. Salvation has already been accomplished: it is up to us to have the humility to accept it or not. Everything depends on our acceptance of the graces the Lord wants to give us, in order to enter into humility. To accept this Salvation means to be willing to be loved by God and to accept the two-folded reality of man: death and sin. It is extremely necessary for us to ask for humility to the Lord, without which we cannot welcome our Savior in this imminent Holy Week. Even the wild beasts honor me, jackals and ostriches, says the Lord, for I put water in the desert and rivers in the wasteland for my chosen people to drink (Is 43). Are we willing to recognize that, because of our sins, we have almost dried up the waters of our Baptism, and reduced to a wasteland our hearts? The Lord, in this most Holy Triduum about to come, wants to open a way for us to come out from our slavery to sin. It is an invitation from our Lord to come out from our sinful pride and to follow him into the eternal feast: the Passover. He is the One who will make it possible: he will take us out from the Egypt of our haughtiness, so that we can experience the love and the tenderness of God.

Through the teaching of the Word of God in our Religious Formation Program, the children will learn about the presence of God in their lives. Currently the program serves over 1,000 children. We need adults, young and old, to join us in this mission. We provide training for all our catechists. At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the only Son from the Father...who suffered and died for us and who now, after rising, is living with us forever. 4 Page 4 Fifth Sunday of Lent March 13, 2016 Quinto Domingo de Cuaresma Ya se acerca el Señor! Ya viene pronto a salvarnos! Esta Cuaresma es el tiempo en el cual el Señor nos anima a no tener miedo de confesar nuestros pecados. Hay que hacer una cosa sola en este tiempo: pedir al Señor la gracia de un sincero arrepentimiento. La humildad es hermana del arrepentimiento. Todo depende si aceptamos el don de la conversión. Los fariseos, por ejemplo, no estaban dispuestos a reconocer sus pecados, y por esto no podían reconocer al Salvador. Si nosotros no reconocemos nuestros pecados, como podemos vernos necesitados de la Salvación? Y no solamente eso. La Salvación que el Señor quiere darnos, en este Triduo Pascual que ya se acerca, es un pasar de la vida a la muerte, de la incapacidad de amar, a la capacidad de dar la vida por el prójimo. Por eso es que viene el Salvador: pare librarnos de todas las ataduras del pecado, las cuales no impiden de vivir a semejanza de Dios: es decir vivir en el amor. El Señor hará este milagro en nuestros corazones, Él mismo dice: abriré` un camino por el desierto, ríos en el yermo, para apagar la sed de mi pueblo, de mi escogido, el pueblo que yo forme. (Isaías 43). Vemos entonces, que el Señor mismo hará este milagro el milagro de la conversión en nuestros corazones. La única cosa necesaria es desear la conversión. La conversión es tener sed de Dios ser un pueblo sediento de la vida eterna y no de las cosas del mundo. CLASES DE BIBLIA Cada segundo Lunes del mes a las 7:00 PM (Marzo 14) en la Iglesia de Abajo.
